You can now organize better your Google Drive, with the help of the three new features that were announced on Thursday by Google’s representatives.
If you are browsing through shared files but that are not found in your Google Drive account, you can now add them there by simply using an icon called Add to Drive. You will also be able to move the files stored in your account with the help of the Move icon.
Another feature will allow you to drag files from your account into different folders. This will not only spare you time, but it will also help you be more organized and find things easier, without having to browse through your entire account.
The third new setting will enable you to add the files you are previewing to your Drive. This can prove to be extremely useful, especially if you need to file away information that was shared through Google Hangout.
These features were designed with the purpose of keeping the accounts more organized, more easy to reach and use. Maybe you don’t store that much information on your Drive, that you need sorting, but there are a lot of people who use it to store great amounts of information, and to them these three new settings will come as great news. Google keeps reminding the people that this product can be very useful to a lot of companies, and if more companies will use it features like these are vital.
What is very interesting is that these three features reflect the traditional way of organizing files, even though Google has repeated many times that they want to replace the old filing systems with new and original ones.
The number of the Google Drive users has been increasing in the past years. In 2013, Google released for the first time a report of the active users and it revealed that 120 million people were using Drive. In 2014, that number grew to 190 million, and it was revealed that 58% of the companies listed on Fortune 500 were using it. In 2014, Google Drive reported that it had 240 million active users.
At the end of 2015, Google announced that they are giving away $1 million in order to fund research that will enforce the integrity and the safety of Google Drive. They have also announced that $20,000 will be offered to anyone who will find qualifying issues. These continuous efforts are being made in order to ensure that Google Drive will only get better and safer in time. You can now organize better your Google Drive with these features and keep in mind that more improvements are on the way.
